A muscial salute to Theodore Roosevelt and the Lewis
and Clark Trail. 4 days:
August 21 - 24, 2008
DAY 1 We're off this morning stopping for an included
morning break. As we enter North Dakota, we'll have lunch (on your own) in Fargo, then
continue on to our overnight in Bismarck. We'll then continue west stopping for an
afternoon break en-route to our overnight at the Prairie Knights Casino and Resort in Fort
Yates, North Dakota. After time to unpack and refresh we'll enjoy an included Welcome
Dinner with the remainder of the evening free to enjoy the casino.
 
DAY 2 Following included breakfast, we'll
head north along the Missouri River to visit Fort Mandan, the Mandan Indian Village where
the Lewis and Clark Expedition recruited Toussaint Charbonneau and his wife, Sacagawea, to
join the expedition as guides and translators. We'll learn more as we visit the
Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center. Following a lunch break (on your own), we'll
continue west to Medora, North Dakota, where we'll tour Theodore Roosevelt National Park
prior to checking into our hotel for the night. Dinner tonight will be special --
the grand Pitch Fork Fondue. After dinner we'll take our seats for the Medora
Musical, "Bully," a tribute to our 26th president, Theodore Roosevelt.
DAY 3 Following a hearty included breakfast we will depart
east, visit Fort Abraham Lincoln, and then continue on to Jamestown to have lunch (on your
own). Later, we'll visit the Frontier village and National Buffalo Museum, then
continue east to Fargo, where we'll check into our hotel for the might. After time
to relax and refresh, we'll enjoy an included farewell dinner.
DAY 4 Following
our breakfast this morning we'll
visit the Heritage Hjemkomst Interpretive Center, where you'll learn all about the boat
and its 6000 mile crossing of the Atlantic Ocean. We'll arrive back in the Twin
Cities later in the afternoon.
