Wonders of Eastern Canada

DAY 1  As we head east this morning we’ll stop for our morning included break in western Wisconsin. Our travels take us across Wisconsin and through Chicago to our overnight in South Bend, IN. This evening we’ll enjoy our included Welcome Dinner. 


DAY 2  After our included breakfast we’ll continue into Michigan, stopping in Detroit for lunch (on your own). Early this afternoon we’ll clear customs and enter the Canadian Province of Ontario, where we’ll overnight in Niagara Falls. This evening we’ll take in the Canadian side of the Falls in all its lighted splendor. 


DAY 3  Our day starts with an up-close look and feel of Niagara Falls as we ride the Maid of the Mist boat into Horseshoe Falls. Later we’ll travel across the Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York to our overnight in Albany.

DAY 4  This morning we’ll travel north along the shores of Lake Champlain to the Canadian border. After clearing customs we’ll be in the French-speaking province of Quebec, where we’ll spend 2 nights in Quebec City. Upon arrival we’ll enjoy a guided tour including the Old City, Cathedral De Quebec and the Joan of Arc Gardens. Later we’ll check into our hotel with the remainder of the evening free to relax and have dinner on your own.

DAY 5  Today will be a highlight as we head north along the St. Lawrence River, stopping to visit beautiful Montmorency Falls. Our next stop is the oldest pilgrimage site in North America, Ste. Anne de Beaupre Basilica. You will marvel at the unique stained glass, mosaics and the Gothic and Romanesque architecture. Following included lunch we’ll head back to Quebec City for some free time to browse the shops and explore the Old Walled City.


DAY 6  Our travels this morning will take us south to the world’s largest French-speaking city outside of Paris, Montreal. We’ll enjoy a guided tour including Notre Dame Basilica, Notre Dame De Bonsecours Church, the 1976 Olympic Site, Old Montreal, Crescent Street, Mount Royal, Saint Joseph’s Oratory, St. Lambert’s Locks and Old Fort St. Helen. This evening we’ll enjoy our included French Canadian dinner and entertainment at the Le Festin du Gouverneur.


DAY 7  Ottawa, the Capital of Canada, is our destination this morning. We’ll enjoy a guided tour including Parliament Hill, Wellington Street and Sussex Street. Following lunch on your own we’ll head for Gananoque, Ontario for our wonderful narrated 1000 Islands Cruise on the St. Lawrence River, viewing the famous Boldt Castle. Later we’ll check into our hotel in Kingston with the evening free to relax.

 

DAY 8  Following included breakfast we’ll head into Toronto for our guided tour. Highlights will include the CN Tower, Casa Loma Castle, Harbor Place and St. Michael’s Cathedral. We’ll then check into our hotel with the evening free to relax.


DAY
9  Today we’ll return to the United States as we cross Ontario to Windsor and clear customs into Detroit, Michigan. This afternoon we’ll have lunch (on your own) and marvel at the displays in the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn. Later we’ll check into our hotel, and the evening will be free to relax and have dinner on your own.

DAY
10  This morning we’ll head west across Michigan, making a morning break prior to driving along the south end of Lake Michigan and into Chicago.  We'll visit Navy Pier for time for you to have lunch on your own and browse the many shops.  Later, we'll enjoy a guided tour of the "Windy City" before checking into our hotel for the night.  After time to refresh we’ll enjoy our included Farewell Dinner.


DAY
11  As your luggage is loaded on the coach, we’ll enjoy our included breakfast. As we travel across Wisconsin, we’ll stop for lunch (on your own) in Tomah and some shopping time at Burnstad’s European Café and Village Shops. We should arrive back in the Twin Cities late this afternoon filled with wonderful memories of our Eastern Canada adventure.
